To reserve a character, please comment to this entry with the form below.

You may only reserve two characters per round.

Reservations do not mean the person who reserved will be accepted, but rather that no challenging applications will be reviewed until everyone who reserved that character has turned in their application, or the applications close.

Challenge reserves are welcome.

A reserve will hold your claim on a character for two weeks. For this first round, a reserve will hold your character till the app cycle ends.

Reserves are CLOSED.

For the first round, applications will open when at least THIRTY characters have been reserved.

If you would like to try out your character in the setting of the game, there is a Test Drive Meme currently open HERE.

So! You were hooked by the premise, read the rules, made sense of the terminology and figured out the setting. Well then, now you're ready to app!

Applications are CLOSED.

Application Guidelines.

You are allowed to app characters from pre-existing media, provided there is enough canon information to fill out the application. Canon supplements, such as databooks, are an acceptable source of canon, provided they are linked to in the application.

If you want to app a character that doesn't have sufficient substance in canon, you can app them as an AU instead. Please make sure to fill in the AU section of the app if that's the case.

Original characters are not allowed at this time, unfortunately.

Each player is allowed to app two characters at the time, for a grand total of five characters. To app a new character, a player already in the game must have passed the previous AC. Hiatus exemptions do not count as passes.

A player can app two characters from the same canon, provided their interactions are minimal and they also do not interact with each other in-game.

If any part of the application is plagiarized, the player will be banned. Rephrasing from a wiki/canon source is not plagiarism. Lifting entire sections of someone else's application is.

If an application needs revisions, the player will have three days to re-submit the application with the appropriate corrections.

Applications should be mailed to labyrinth.rpg.mods@gmail.com with "APPLICATION | CHARACTER NAME | CANON" as the subject. Otherwise, they run the risk of ending in the spam folder.

Applications take roughly a week to be reviewed, depending on the volume of received applications. Do not contact the Mod about your application before the week is up. However, if it's been a week and you've yet to receive a reply, feel free to poke the Mod Inbox.

Please read carefully each section and make sure to check for spelling and grammar mistakes before submitting. Any questions regarding the app process should be directed to the Mod Inbox.

Marks are unique to each character in the Labyrinth, and serve as the one true identification measure they have. They appear on the door of their rooms, on the back of their Rocks, on their bags, and on the cover of their Blank Books. Additionally, they serve as their default "icon" when posting with the Rock. As such, and to help keep things organized, please comment to this entry with the appropriate form below.

The Village is built in a roughly circular shape, with the Manor right at the center. The Villagers live in pretty much all areas, usually far away from their Shops. Roads are generally as wide as two-way streets, though there are no modern cars in the Village. The roads change to reflect the type of buildings nearby, so modern buildings will have asphalt roads, while more medieval shops will be surrounded by pebbled roads. As technology and magic in the Village are remains of what the Villagers possessed while they were Newcomers, the variety is pretty overwhelming.

For the sake of organization and to adapt better to the growth of the game, this is not a comprehensive list of Shops in the Village. More will be added as play and plot demands.

Welcome to [community profile] labyrinthrpg , a community-based panfandom roleplaying game.

Your character wakes up in a torchlit room, lying on their back on a stone altar. A voice whispers reassurances that ring suspiciously false, before they are overcome by brief, if excruciating pain as their Mark forms out of the very darkness of the room. The pain passes as quickly as it came, and the character finds themselves branded with a tattoo unique to them. Any superhuman abilities they possessed, even those granted by their own biology, will be repressed. They have also been stripped of any potential weapons they might have had, as well as objects with any sort of personal importance. The Spirit manifests himself then, the very same voice that tried to soothe them before the Mark was placed, and summarizes their situation in few words:

  • They have been taken from their worlds and brought into the Labyrinth.
  • If they want to reclaim what has been taken from them, they will have to find it within the Labyrinth itself.
  • Those who conquer the Labyrinth and find its exit will also be granted their heart's desire.
  • There is plenty for them to do, regardless of what route they choose to take, but at least their most basic needs will be provided for by the Manor.
  • Really, they should check their accommodations, there are plenty of answers there.

Of course, the Spirit is the Spirit and he may omit bits and pieces or just flat out send the characters off to their rooms without any further explanation, depending on his ever changing mood. Regardless, once they find their room, they will find themselves in possession of a Bag, a Rock and a Blank Book.

And of course, a choice.
